Philosopher, art critic and media theorist.
After studying philosophy and mathematics at the University of Leningrad, he gained a doctorate in philosophy at the University of Münster. A philosopher of international standing, he is also an expert in Soviet art and literature. His work is the result of reflection about modernity and the question of the subject. He has written many essays, highlights among them including Art and Terrorism, The Total Art of Stalinism (2008), Going Public (2010), Introduction to Antiphilosophy (2012) and His most recent work translated into Spanish includes Technologies of Immortality Before and After the October Revolution (2021), Philosophy of Care (2022) and Becoming a Work of Art (2023), all published in Spanish by Caja Negra.
